DTI-PAB holds nationwide webinar on ISO 15189 orientation
The Department of Trade and Industry–Philippine Accreditation Bureau (DTI-PAB) successfully conducted a two-day online orientation on ISO 15189:2022 – Medical Laboratories: Requirements for Quality and Competence on September 29–30, 2025. The activity gathered more than three hundred participants from medical testing laboratories, assessors, and experts nationwide, reflecting the sector’s strong commitment to advancing competence and quality in health services.
The orientation introduced participants to the updated requirements of ISO 15189, a critical standard that underpins the reliability, accuracy, and overall quality of medical laboratory services. By promoting adherence to international benchmarks, DTI-PAB plays a vital role in safeguarding public health and strengthening trust in the country’s healthcare system.
Building on this initiative, DTI-PAB is set to conduct two additional webinar sessions on Internal Auditing in compliance with ISO 15189 on October 8–9 and October 27–28, 2025. These trainings are designed to help medical laboratories assess their compliance, identify opportunities for improvement, and further reinforce their management systems.
Through these continuous efforts, DTI-PAB reaffirms its commitment to fostering excellence in medical testing laboratories and supporting healthcare institutions in delivering safe, reliable, and high-quality services for the Filipino people. As the national accreditation body established under Executive Order No. 802, DTI-PAB fulfills its mandate to accredit conformity assessment bodies in accordance with international standards—strengthening consumer protection and enhancing national competitiveness. ♦ Date of Release: 01 October 2025Video Embed Shortcode
