Special Enforcement Activities on Fair Trade Laws in Antipolo, Rizal
Strengthening the efforts of ensuring consumers access to safe and reliable critical products, Department of Trade and Industry – Consumer Protection Group (DTI-CPG) Undersecretary Atty. Ruth B. Castelo, together with DTI-Fair Trade Enforcement Bureau (FTEB) Director Domingo R. Tolentino, Jr., led the enforcement activities on Fair Trade Laws in Antipolo City last 21 March 2018.
The DTI enforcement teams confiscated 1,510 pieces of uncertified electrical wiring devices, lamps and home appliances, which do not bear the Philippine Standard (PS) mark nor the Import Commodity Clearance (ICC) sticker. Five establishments were issued the DTI’s Notice of Violation of Department Administrative Order (DAO) No. 02, Series of 2007, the Republic Act No. 4109 (Standards Law) and the R. A. 7394 or the Consumer Act of the Philippines.♦
