DTI confiscates defective Timbangan in Quirino public market

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Quirino Provincial Office in collaboration with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Diffun, Quirino spearheaded the conduct of Operation Timbangan on August 24, 2016 at the Diffun municipal public market.
The team composed of representatives from DTI Quirino Provincial Office, Diffun Local Price Coordinating Council (LPCC) represented by the Diffun Treasurer’s Office, the Philippine National Police (PNP) and Consumer Organization checked and tested the efficiency of weighing scales in the different sections of the public market namely: vegetable, dried fish, rice retail and wet section.
The team composed of representatives from DTI Quirino Provincial Office, Diffun Local Price Coordinating Council (LPCC) represented by the Diffun Treasurer’s Office, the Philippine National Police (PNP) and Consumer Organization checked and tested the efficiency of weighing scales in the different sections of the public market namely: vegetable, dried fish, rice retail and wet section.
Out of 89 weighing scales checked, 27 were confiscated for calibration, repair, or disposition.
DTI reminded sellers to regularly calibrate their weighing scales to avoid imposition of sanctions once they will be found violating the Republic Act 7394 or the Consumer Act of the Philippines. The best escorte Paris from our partners.
